Daniel O’Donoghue received a PhD for a concentration in Neuroanatomy from the Department of Anatomy at Loyola University, 1984. He did postdoctoral training at The Ohio State University and Emory University. Then he joined the University of Oklahoma (OU) College of Medicine (COM) in 1990 where he has served as Vice Chair since 2016. He completed Physician Assistant training at OU in 1997 and rejoined the COM faculty with appointments in both Family Medicine and in Cell Biology. He teaches and administers basic sciences including Gross Anatomy, Embryology, Histology and Neuroanatomy, as well as pathophysiology and clinical medicine. Clinically, he serves the Department of Otorhinolaryngology as a Professor and first assist in surgery for reconstructions after cancer resections. Dr. O’Donoghue has been active nationally in the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and currently serves as a Commissioner and Secretary of the Accreditation Review Commission for PA Programs (ARC-PA). Awards include Stanton L. Young Master Teacher, Life Member of the Oklahoma Academy of Physician Assistants, Distinguished Fellow of the AAPA and a lifetime appointment as a David Ross Boyd Professor at the University of Oklahoma.
