Campus and Department Core Facilities

The Office of the Vice President for Research operates the major campus Core Facilities

Laboratory of Biomolecular Structure and Function (see below)
DNA Squencing and Genomics
Flow Cytometry and Imaging
Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics

In addition, the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology houses several Core Facilities that augment the services available from the  VPR Core Facilities.


THE PHYSICAL BIOCHEMISTRY CORE FACILITY

The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology has the following biophysical instruments available for use by investigators at OUHSC, OU, and at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation:

(1) Jasco 715 Circular Dichroism (CD) Spectropolarimeter
(2) Microcal VP Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC)
(3) Microcal VP Isothermal Titration Calorimeter (ITC)
(4) NT.115 Microscale Thermophoresis (MST) Instrument
(5) Wyatt DAWN HELEOS II Multi-Angle Laser Light Scattering (MALS) Instrument

Microcal VP ITC

LABORATORY OF BIOMOLECULAR STRUCTURE AND FUNCTION

The LBSF, a component of the VPR Core Facilities, consists of
(1) the X-ray Crystallography laboratories,
(2) the Protein Expression and Purification Facility and
(3) the Modeling Core.

Fluorescence Measurements Core Facility

The Department has two major systems for fluorescence experiments
(1) SLM-8100 photon-counting spectrofluorometer
(2) ISS Chronos Lifetime Spectrometer
